Thebe and Thora are best friends, heavy smokers and world famous performers. 

When they are not hanging out, performing and having a generally fantastic time they like to sit on their stairwell and speak to the neighbours or go to the local petrol station to smoke cigarettes. Which is totally safe! Of course. They have already been smoking them inside but who doesn’t yearn for a change of scenery? 

It is during these smoke breaks that they  come to terms with who they really are without all the spotlights and applause. Are they toys or humans? Ornaments or performers? Do their audiences know that their laughter is fake and their smiles, put on? 

Thebe is funny and theatrical, while Thora is kind and philosophical. Thebe makes Thora a better performer and Thora makes Thebe a better person…or doll (?) 

They are the perfect pair. Best friends forever. A cigarette never to be smoked alone. If one laughs, the other at least smiles. People fly from all over the world to watch them perform, but no one catches a glimpse when they are on their smoke break.
