I had the opportunity to ask the founders a few key questions about their Spring/Summer 2025 collection, where the art of Italian craftsmanship seamlessly merges with a commitment to timeless luxury.
The Cold Magazine (CM): How does this collection reflect your personal aesthetic or vision as a designer?
ALIAA AND ENRICO (AE): This collection represents our idea of timeless elegance, inspired by a confident and free woman. We wanted to create a sabot that embodies Italian luxury, combining
beauty, refinement, and comfort. The clean lines and premium materials reflect our taste for essential yet sophisticated design, ensuring a style that transcends fleeting trends.
CM: How do these designs cater to comfort and practicality while remaining stylish?
AE: Our sabots are entirely crafted from calfskin leather, a material that guarantees softness and durability over time. The structure has been carefully designed to provide maximum comfort without compromising elegance. They are made to accompany women in every occasion, from glamorous events to more formal settings, always maintaining a touch of class and distinction.
CM: What challenges did you encounter during the design or production of this collection?
AE: The challenges we faced were typical of an artisanal production process: unforeseen circumstances, delays, difficulties in material selection, and the meticulous attention to detail required. However, with the right determination and passion, we overcame these obstacles while maintaining the high-quality standards that define us.
CM: Which shoe in the collection is your personal favorite, and why?
AE: Personally, the red currant sabot is the one that represents me the most. It is a bold, confident color, yet refined and elegant at the same time. It perfectly encapsulates the essence of our collection: strength, femininity, and discreet luxury.
CM: Do you see this collection influencing the direction of your future designs?
AE: Absolutely. This collection is the foundation of our future journey. We will continue to create footwear with the same spirit: clean lines, understated elegance, and a strong connection to Italian tradition. The sabot will always remain our focus, but we will explore new interpretations while staying true to our identity.
CM: Did you incorporate any current or emerging fashion trends, or did you
aim for a timeless appeal?
AE: Our goal was to create something iconic and timeless while also expressing vibrancy and freshness. Over the past year, we have traveled extensively to places like
Morocco, the French Riviera, and Eastern Europe, and we were deeply inspired by the colors, energy, and joy of life in these regions. Upon returning to Italy, we realized how much beauty surrounds us— from design and architecture to our rich culinary tradition. This realization led us to infuse our sabots with the beauty that defines our surroundings. They are designed to be versatile, perfect for any summer occasion, and capable of adding elegance and personality to any outfit.
CM: How important is craftsmanship to you, and how does it manifest in this collection?
AE: Craftsmanship is the heart of our collection and represents true luxury.
Every component of our mules is entirely made in Italy: from the first-rate leather sole to the fine calfskin, to the iconic accessory. The production takes place in Italian workshops, where skilled hands transform excellent materials into a refined and elegant product. For us, the true value of a shoe lies in the attention to detail and Italian savoir-faire, which make each piece unique and destined to last over time. Additionally, we are deeply committed to sustainability: the materials we choose are of high quality and durability, reducing the need for frequent replacements and minimizing environmental impact. Our focus on sustainability is also reflected in our production processes, which honor traditional craftsmanship, preserving the beauty of Made in Italy and the well-being of our planet.
