Natasha Zinko’s Hair of the Dog collection brought guests to the heart of London’s party scene – The Box Soho – for an intimate show featuring the hottest hangover outfits. Ukrainian designer Natasha Zinko drew inspiration from the 1998 film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, bringing to life the feeling of losing track of time in the name of hedonism and the scene that follows. Zinko believes that when people get carried away while getting ready, they lose some of the honest anecdotes of their authentic personalities in an attempt to perfect their appearance. Hair of the Dog celebrates the beauty of chaos, showing that true personal style comes from releasing the idea of perfection and embracing who you are when you let your hair down (literally).

Tommy Cash, artist and musician, opened the show in a green and black snakeskin blazer, fitted leather pants paired with oversized sunglasses and cowboy boots – the ultimate representation of Raoul Duke from Fear and Loathing, played by Johnny Depp. Look 4 showed a model carrying a Fear and Loathing book, paired with a black silk button down, undone to reveal a white vest and cigarette butts. Not only were models hot and daring, they were resourceful too. One even carried her keys and emergency flats (flip flops) in the waistband of her rolled up boxers. Another model wore his robe like a disguise, as if he didn’t want anyone to see where he was going, or with who.

Sweatsets, distressed fabrics and clashing patterns were all part of the scene at Zinko’s after party. Carrying resemblance to UK’s cult television show Skins which aired from 2007-2013, the smudged makeup, tangled long hair, lowrise jeans, babydoll dresses and ripped tights are flirtatiously familiar to those who adored the show’s It Girl, Effy Stonem. In an ode to past shows, models lit up on the runway, a reference well known to Kate Moss’ iconic walk for Louis Vuitton’s 2011 Paris show. To top it all off, HMUA drew inspiration from the queen of grunge herself, Courtney Love.

Zinko’s Hair of the Dog was a snapshot of reckless youth culture – a dizzy, unfiltered love letter to the beauty of imperfection. By blending cinematic references, nods to pop culture icons, and the raw energy of London’s nightlife, she reminded us that personal style is never about polish, but about personality. In true Zinko fashion, the collection was chaotic, playful, and honest – proof that sometimes the best looks come after the wildest nights.
