New York City based streetwear brand, Sprayground, celebrated their 15th anniversary with a debut collection of 47 looks on the first day of London Fashion Week at Freemasons’ Hall. Founder, CEO and chief creative officer David Bendavid has had a London debut on his mind ever since the brand began to take its cult following internationally. Bendavid wanted to bridge the gap between the two fashion capitals by bringing the raw, fearless energy of his hometown to the avant-garde luxury fashion scene in London. His debut brought a taste of American streetstyle to the UK, showcasing an array of cutting edge designs and luxury travel accessories.

The brand’s famous Shark Mouth design appeared in various ideations, including backpacks, shirts and trousers. The animal theme continued with many of the designs featuring hand sewn 3D printed teddy bears and hats with bear ears attached. Some notable looks included a hot pink, blown up dress, a look made entirely of dollar bills and a futuristic white ensemble made up of a corset held together by a sculptural vine that wrapped around the body. In true New Yorker style, the collection included a sneak peak at a new partnership between Porsche and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. Guests were given a first look at the capsule collections set to launch in London following the show.
The finale was a spectacle in itself, as sprayground’s creative director of content and musician, Sandflower, unveiled the last look while performing an original track, her voice rising over the choir of gospel singers lining the stage. The energy continued with appearances by Phoenix Brown, Jack Fox, Virginia Bates, and Roxy Horner, each adding to the show’s celebratory spirit. As confetti canons burst overhead, designer David BenDavid emerged to take his bow, closing the show on an electric note that set the tone for the future of the brand as a part of the London Fashion Week Calendar.

With homes in two major fashion capitals, Sprayground is on its way to monopolizing the luxury travel market. What began as a creative spin on typical travel accessories has evolved into a collection of one of a kind statement pieces. The raving reviews of Sprayground’s latest collection reflect the hustle and commitment that it takes to succeed internationally in this industry. Bendavid has brought his playful imagination to life in a tangible way that appeals to the creative spirit while maintaining realistic design qualities to ensure his pieces can be used as much as they are adored. With its bold debut at London Fashion Week, the brand’s momentum shows no signs of slowing, sparking excitement for how Sprayground will continue to expand and shape its future in the city’s vibrant fashion scene.
