In the heart of the Palais Royal gardens, female voices blend with electronic beats, setting a magnetic and sophisticated atmosphere. Isabel Marant’s Autumn/Winter 2025 collection unfolds as a modern exploration of luxury, where sensuality and the contrast between masculine and feminine take center stage. The French designer merges her distinctive aesthetic with New Wave influences, crafting a collection that speaks of strength and freedom while maintaining a sense of refined elegance.
Marant’s woman is urban, effortless, and confident. She walks with a relaxed air, her hands tucked into the pockets of a leather jacket, paired with floral fishnet tights that add a seductive allure. A draped miniskirt with a deconstructed structure shimmers under city lights, blending sensuality with boldness. The collection plays on a clash of elements—delicate and rebellious, structured yet free—achieved through transparency, layering, and unexpected juxtapositions.
For Autumn, Isabel Marant’s creative director, Kim Bekker, drew inspiration from a collision of pop culture and alternative music references. Siouxsie Sioux singing “Love in a Void” in 1979, Nicole Kidman taking a younger lover in Babygirl, and Grace Jones walking, walking in the rain. The result is an undone, nonchalant coolness: black leather, trailing tartan hems, bad-girl black lace tights, jet beading scattered across garments, and the jingle-jangle of charms on oversized safety pin brooches.
The mix of textures and patterns—fishnets, floral lace, plaid, and contrasting pinstripes—creates a raw yet refined aesthetic that perfectly encapsulates Marant’s DNA. A standout reinterpretation in the collection is the smoking jacket, reinterpreted with broad shoulders and satin lapels but worn without traditional trousers. Instead, delicate lace ruffles peek through, hinting a touch of romance, softening the structured silhouette. Transparent layers, lingerie-inspired pieces, and flowing fabrics enhance the collection’s sensual and sophisticated atmosphere, offering a contemporary vision of femininity.
