Judeline: Art as Both Path and Destiny
Photography and words

From a small town in Cádiz to one of the world’s most iconic stages, Coachella, Judeline is living a golden moment. The Andalusian artist has mastered the fusion of southern duende with contemporary musical trends, crafting a sound that’s entirely her own. At just twenty- two years old, she’s quickly establishing herself as one of the most distinctive and compelling voices in the Spanish music scene.
Her stage name, Judeline, carries a story that’s both intimate and symbolic. ‘It comes from “Hey, Jude” by The Beatles,’ she explains. ‘My father is a big fan, and their music was always playing at home. If I’d been born a boy, I would’ve been named Jude, so I decided to incorporate it into my artistic name.’ This blend of family roots and global musical references is a thread that runs through her entire artistic vision.
Judeline’s universe goes far beyond music. With Bodhiria, her latest project, she has created a parallel world that explores deep emotions such as love, death, and spirituality. Within this universe, Angel-a, her alter ego, was born, a figure that allowed her to narrate from a different perspective: ‘She is a character that helped me to tell the story from another angle, freer, more symbolic.’
Her aesthetic is another of the pillars that define her identity. Influenced by her Andalusian roots and the cultural diversity of her people, Judeline naturally combines references from local folklore with international influences, especially from the United States and Paris. ‘References from my adolescence have also influenced my style,’ she says. Her image and sound blend tradition with the avant-garde, creating a distinct and compelling aesthetic.

Judeline resists being pigeonholed. Her musical style exists at a crossroads, electronic, R&B, folk, and ambient, all merging seamlessly in her compositions. ‘I don’t like to limit myself to one genre,’ she says. Her influences are equally eclectic, spanning from the legendary Gal Costa to Lady Gaga, with flamenco duo Lole y Manuel in between. Her dream collaboration, without hesitation? Luis Miguel.
Despite her success, she remains grounded. Before each concert, she follows a clear routine: ‘I like to meditate and connect with myself before going on stage. I also mentally go over the setlist and visualise the kind of energy I want the show to have,’ she says. She’s an artist who pays attention to both substance and form.
Although she now lives in Madrid, she admits to missing the calm of Cádiz: ‘The tranquillity, the sea, the connection with nature…In Madrid, everything moves so fast.’ That connection to her roots is something she’ll always carry with her, even if she one day chooses to live outside of Spain. ‘I would love to experience other cultures, to see how they influence my music,’ she says.
Judeline is equally open when it comes to more personal topics. Since childhood, she’s dreamed of a creative life, with songwriting always being her greatest joy. Still, she tells us with a laugh, ‘If I weren’t a singer, I think I’d be a waitress.’
When asked what she would tell her 16-year-old self, she doesn’t hesitate: ‘To trust herself, not to be afraid of things happening. Everything is a learning process.’
For anyone navigating a break-up, she offers a heartfelt piece of advice: ‘Allow yourself to feel and heal at your own pace. Well-being after a bereavement is something magical for me. Art is always an ally in this process.’
Judeline is more than an emerging singer, she’s a storyteller, an explorer of emotion, and a creator of worlds. From southern Spain to the heart of California, her journey is only just beginning. And it promises to be unforgettable.
