“Not many bands can deliver a masterclass in euphoric melancholia the way The Cure do and Sunday night in Edinburgh was no exception,” said photographer Marilena Vlachopoulou, who captured the crowd.

The Cure played a magnificently gloomy concert to mark the postpunk band’s 50 year anniversary, bringing together Scotland’s Cureheads under the sky for the first time in that city since 1992. Vlachopoulou captured portraits of the gothic looks meticulously put together to see Robert Smith, from trad goth eye makeup and black lipstick to “Friday I’m in love” t-shirts.
