Under the Hood starts where most menswear stories end: on the pavement, against a grey wall, with a phone pressed to one ear. Photographer Lorenzo Venturini shoots in flat daylight that leaves nowhere to hide, and stylist Francesco Salimena fills that space with clothes that feel lived in rather than presented.
The wardrobe is a map of how young men actually dress now. Supreme, Nike and CP Company sit next to Dsquared2, MM6 and Marsèll; independent labels such as Prynce Original Lab, Trashy Clothing and Alchetipo share the frame with pieces pulled from Rags Archive, La Stramberia and the stylist’s own archive. Caps are pulled low, jackets are worn open, tracksuit bottoms meet leather. Nothing is styled to look new.
Models Valdir Pereira and Rayan Lebchir move through the story with a kind of restless boredom, the energy of an afternoon with nowhere to be. A tug-of-war over a soft toy, a stalk of celery held between the teeth, a puffer collar zipped to the nose: small, odd gestures that turn streetwear into character study.
The hood of the title is both the one you pull over your head and the one you grew up in. This story is about both.
